TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS

Connecting with your donor’s family.

Honor the selfless gift you received by writing a letter to your donor family. If you’re not sure how to start, here are few general guidelines you can follow:

  • Communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner
  • Use only first names
  • Share your experience and how the transplant has affected your life
  • Mention your job, hobbies, and interests
  • Place your card or letter in an unsealed envelope
  • Include a cover sheet with your full name, address and transplant date (this information is only for Dakota Lions Sight & Health and will not be shared)

How to send your letter.

At Dakota Lions Sight & Health, we act as the intermediary between recipients and donor families to ensure confidentiality and a respect of privacy. In this capacity, we strive to serve both the donor family and the recipient.

Once your letter is ready to send, place all items in an envelope and mail to:

Dakota Lions Sight & Health
ATTN: Transplant Recipient Letter
4501 W 61st St N

Please keep in mind that correspondence may take some time. Some donor families won’t respond immediately, and some may not respond at all.
