Lions Clubs have long championed eye banks as a means of restoring sight.
The “Lions” in Dakota Lions Sight & Health are the dedicated members of local chapters of Lions Clubs International. Lions Clubs International is an esteemed international service organization through which more than over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries around the world volunteer their time and talents to improving their communities.
In our region, over 180 Lions Clubs are in South and North Dakota and most include Dakota Lions Sight & Health among the organizations they support.
Financial Support
One of the many ways Lions support our organization is through financial donations. As a non-profit organization, Dakota Lions Sight & Health relies on financial contributors to fully realize our Mission. Thanks to the many Lions who supported our Capital Campaign, we are headquartered in a beautiful state-of-the-art facility that includes a dedicated laboratory and surgical recovery suites. Funding also allows Dakota Lions Sight & Health to provide corneas at no cost to individuals without health insurance or without other means to pay for the transplant. Additionally, funding supports our education and outreach programs which include driver education, EMS training, and research.
Ambassadors of Donation
With almost 4000 individual Lions Clubs members spread across our service area, Lions are are important messengers about the gift of donation. We rely on Lions to be ambassadors of eye and tissue donation throughout their communities. If you or your Club wishes to learn more, please contact us.
